Experiments in Rural Advancement (ERA), an Indian non profit organization, since its inception in 1987, has been striving to enable the poor and marginalized to secure livelihoods, participate in decision making and assert their rights.
During these years, it has made a sound presence, particularly in remote hill corners, by implementing a multitude of programs - children education & health care, drinking water, women empowerment, promoting agro-based micro-enterprises, handlooms, cultivation of medicinal & aromatic plants, agriculture, watershed management, local governance, etc.
• Establishing child rights
• Strengthening civil society
• Enabling local initiatives to improve the access and quality of elementary education
For the last ten years ERA has helped people evolve a package of integrated programmes for overall socio-economic growth. Within this, water emerged as the key factor.
• Natural Resource Management
• Drinking Water
• Environment Conservation
• Women´s Empowerment
• Income Generation
• Community Education
• Supporting local initiatives
• Disaster Management
