One, Two...Tree! is a non-profit organisation working on education in Central America. We aim to make English accessible to support empowered, entrepreneurial and organised communities in Central America.
Our efforts are intended as a tool for social empowerment and intercultural exchange. We teach in public schools, collaborate with local organisations and offer English classes in our very own Learning Centre to those keen to learn.

Our idea is simple: Collaboration
We reach to local organisations to use their premises and introduce English classes through volunteer work. This allows us to get involved in local educational systems and other local initiatives and reach a large number of children and adults through a sustainable and flexible cost model that can be scaled up or down in response to the community’s needs at any given moment.

We share a vision of strong united communities and individuals in charge of their economies, ready to grasp and create the opportunities that work best for their future.

What we do
• One, Two...Tree! finds local and non-profit organisations to introduce free English classes with volunteer work.
• These local partners are schools and small organisations involved in community and educational projects.
• One, Two...Tree! supplies volunteers, materials and resources for the development of English classes.
• Local partners provide classroom facilities, and students and help us to integrate their educational system or community projects.
• There is no cost for renting the premises nor a fee for delivering English classes.
• Thanks to this simple structure, we are able to reach a large number of local kids, teenagers, and adults with little money.

In Guatemala, we currently teach English to 300 children and 90 teenagers across three public schools, one community school, one high school, and our learning centre in Santiago Atitlán and to many adult groups. We have an agreement with the Ministry of Education to provide children in primary school with a basic level of English.
Tourism is growing rapidly in Central America and Santiago Atitlan is surrounded by several touristic villages. Across the community, there is a keen desire to learn English as a way to benefit from tourism and to broaden future opportunities to progress with studies or have access to a wider range of jobs.
Volunteers in Guatemala teach the basics of English to children from the age of 8 to 12 years old (approx.) as well as adults up to 68 years old being our current eldest student!
Lessons are taught in public schools of Santiago Atitlán, local cooperatives, and at our learning centre, which we opened in response to schools offering limited school time due to the pandemic earlier this year.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new We would love to exchange tips on how to teach English effectively as a foreign language.
