Über uns

Jungle Theatre Company (JTC) was established as an NPO in 2004 to inspire and empower disadvantaged children & youth to make positive changes in their lives and build a peaceful and vibrant South Africa.

Vision statement:
To contribute towards a world in which people are socially, culturally, and environmentally conscious and active.

Mission statement:
To inspire young people to understand and care for community, culture and nature by sharing and encouraging participation in original African theatre, presented using context-appropriate mediums and local performing Theatre Makers.

Our values are : inclusivity, respect and excellence.

Services:
Live performances i.e., theatre experience for children & practical experience for Theatre Makers
Workshops i.e., post-show interactive theatre workshops & contracted workshops
Creative arts clubs with children for children.
Holiday programmes for children
Training & development for Theatre Makers
Resources including colouring-in books, story cards, activity books, audio recordings and videos, that are aligned to the CAPS School curriculum.
The Core Objectives of the Programmes:
Create quality, relevant, and accessible theatre work that speaks to a broad range of South Africans.
Engage people in theatre making to spark a love for creative arts.
Promote an increased awareness of community, culture & nature, inspiring people to take action toward changed behaviours.
Connect Theatre Makers to ongoing employment opportunities.
Support the educational system in developing well-rounded individuals.

Benenficiaries:
Primary: young people, specifically children aged 3 to 14 years, encompassing early childhood development and primary school children.
Secondary: performing artists within the age group of 18 to 35; parents of the young participants; teachers who utilize JTC's connections to the curriculum to enrich their teaching methodologies
