Über uns

The Muslim Women Resource Center NFP (MWRC) is a non-profit service agency in Chicago. Its mission is to help Muslim women overcome cultural and language barriers to prepare them to enter the Chicago job market. It specifically focuses on newly arrived Muslim women who typically display complete dependency on government assistance. They also characteristically lack basic employment skills.

MWRC's specialists facilitate the proper assimilation of Muslim women by taking into consideration the economic, social and cultural aspects of life for these women upon arrival from their country of origin. The specialists are also sensitive to the women's challenge of adapting to their new roles in the United States. MWRC strives to lesson the gap of cultural, linguistic and social distances by applying empowerment and confidence-building measures to overcome chronic dependency on a husband's income, government handouts or indifference in seeking employment as a means of pursuing an active living.

For other net participants we can offer expert guidance through trained staff and deliver a lecture in the field of our work.
