Über uns

Dream Africa Volunteer Service (DAVS) is an organization dedicated to providing year-round programs for local and international volunteers to interact in development process by participating in projects which support to enrich the lives of deprived children and women in rural communities. The organization aims to find volunteer placements and provide support for individual or group volunteers in our country. Our work promotes international cooperation, friendship, cultural exchange and sustainable socioeconomic development through voluntary work placements.

Dream Africa Volunteer Service was established in 2006 to support a wide range of development projects in communities where we operate. DAVS Ghana is a vibrant, community development and progress-oriented organization made up of young and dedicated volunteers working together for the development of rural communities.

DAVS vision is based on the believe that every Ghanaian is entitled to safety, good health, and nurturing environment that will lead to uplifting of the community. In order to achieve this, our value is integrity, compassion and efficiency.

Our Objectives
• Promote volunteerism and voluntary efforts in social and national development.
• To encourage international and local volunteers towards volunteerism to contribute in community development.
• To fight poverty and exclusion; strengthen the capacity of disadvantaged communities; support initiative for peace, human rights and equity and mobilize resources

DAVS sponsors a variety of community development projects:
• Computer Training: The project aims to provide free access to computer education for young people in Ghana who cannot afford the high cost of computer education.
• Construction Work: Volunteers will engage in construction activities such as digging, mixing sand and cement, carrying bricks, sand, fetching water, and painting school buildings.
• HIV/AIDS Prevention: The project aims at fostering awareness of the disease and to work to change attitudes and behavior towards those unfortunate enough to be infected. The project is organized in two ways: Outreach Program and Working in an HIV/AIDS Orphanage
• Medical Care Assistance: Rural Health Support Project to improve the health of the people. Through this project, we aim to increase access to basic healthcare for rural people, decrease the prevalence of endemic diseases and improve overall village health by providing public health services in all aspects of clinical nursing, with a primary health work with the community nurses and promote health education in the towns and villages.
• Orphanage & Child Care: The project aims to provide an opportunity for needy children and orphans to live and learn under one roof until they are adopted or integrated in the community or placed with family members who can take better care of them. Our aim is to give these orphanages extra support so they can provide the children with good quality food, clothing and school supplies.
• Soccer Development
• Youth School Teaching: Volunteers can teach vocabulary, assist with pronunciation and support students as they practice speaking English. This project helps the primary and junior secondary class children to learn English and also get education on math and science.
