Über uns

Association for Human Integrated Massive Social Action (AHIMSA), established by Late Mr. P.A. Ignacy, is a social service organization based at Vaiyampatty, Trichy District, Tamil Nadu, South India and was instituted in 1989. It was registered under Section 10 of the Society Registration Act 27 of 1975, of Tamil Nadu and under FC(R)A, Govt. of India under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The primary focus of the organization is to identify & alleviate problems faced by marginalized farming communities & landless laborers.
AHIMSA has a team of committed men and women who are trained to design, implement and monitor projects that focus on key issues such as, conservation, biodiversity, women empowerment, skills enhancement, vocational education, employability etc. The underpinning focus is to work towards improving the quality of life in marginalized communities.

AHIMSA envisions the creation & sustainability of self-reliant communities, where food security is a workable reality, climate change impact is mitigated, education & employability are guaranteed, and people lead empowered lives, free from exploitation, social evils and discrimination.

AHIMSA’s objectives:
• To ensure that people are made aware of the recent trends in sustainable agriculture.
• To help women become self-reliant and independent
• To make people aware of the various social problems that can be tackled amicably without creating tension in a community.
• To install in the youth, a need to be aware of the present dangers to overcome such dangers.
• To help farmers set up resource centres where they can help fellow agriculturists.
• To take steps to ensure that bio-diversity and its related components are understood by the common man.
• To spread among the people the need for thrift and banking.

Our projects:
• Bio-diversity: AHIMSA has focused on conserving biodiversity and exploring sustainable ways of generating resources to meet the needs of the underprivileged.
• Women Empowerment: The secret to village empowerment lies with women. Hence AHIMSA has taken on the task to equip women with the information and tap their skills to build their confidence moulding them to be leaders in their own right to catalyse development.
• Child Development: AHIMSA’s consistent focus on student-centric projects continues to raise the levels of teaching & learning in target areas, with specific focus on skills development.
• Bio Blocks: AHIMSA aims at creating Bio Blocks where sustainable agricultural practices ensure food security and cultivation free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
• Intensive Training: Farmers undergo intensive training programmes with experts in the field; participants are encouraged to share experiences on various aspects of farming and allied activities.
• Millet Cultivation: AHIMSA focuses on attaining food security through millet cultivation and has conducted various programs to promote this.
• Producer companies: The Government of India has initiated the creation of Producer Companies to help farmers sell their produce. Through these producer companies, farmers can minimize and, in some cases, eliminate middlemen while trying to find good prices for their produce
