Our work
• Films: We partner with organizations to make films. Based on a discussion process with organizations and communities we decide on a script and work on the film. If your organization is looking to make a film on an important issue, then drop in a line.
• Radio Nazariya 107.8FM: Conceived by Drishti in the year 2016, Radio Nazariya is Ahmedabad's own community radio station. On Air, we showcase the stories of Ahmedavadi, for Ahmedabadis and by Ahmedabadis. While covering a range of development issues such as women empowerment, urbanization & employment, health and sanitation; we're also a space for creative expressions of children and budding artists of the city. A station where all citizens are welcome to share their stories, we're a platform to discuss, debate and critique issues that matter.
• Community Radio Projects: In the process we have supported upcoming radio stations with their license process, studio and equipment set-ups, but most importantly with a training and handholding on creating a team which can truly become the voice of the people. While, we continue to do this work with upcoming stations, now we also engage with projects which engages multiple radio stations to create content on particular thematics. TARANG- Strengthening Community Radios in India; Technical Support
• Community Video: In 2004, we started with our first community video unit using VHS cameras. We work with local partner organisations to train and support in production and dissemination of videos. After initial discussions with the partner organisation the training module is created by us, while the partner organisation is responsible for selection of the trainees. This initiative has come a long way and today the community prodcuers make videos using mobile phones and use social media for dissemination.
• Transmitterance (Transmit + Utterance): Transmitterance is a 10 month long sound art program which aims to encourage young audio artists, musicians, poets, as well as artists working in other medium to create audio works in participation with communities exploring the various sound formats and pertinent socio-political questions
