Über uns

Plymouth Hope, founded in 2009, is a Devon based charity run by inspiring and dedicated volunteers from all walk of lives who all believe in social equality. Plymouth Hope aims to promote social inclusion by supporting people who may otherwise have become socially excluded.

Mission Statement
To give hope to future generations by fostering social cohesion, equality and create opportunities to access basic healthcare, education, the deserving right to play and an equal world for all. To nurture and build a generation of young people for a prosperous peaceful, tolerant and equal world.

Our Vision
To help seek hope for the less disadvantaged and forgotten: To foster social and community cohesion between different ethnic groups and implement sustainable programmes and life changing services.
To use the power of sport to achieve hope for the disadvantaged, less fortunate and the neglected in communities in the UK and around the world.

Our objectives
In the UK
• To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities and coaching for the playing of football.
• To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. For the purpose of this clause "socially excluded" means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: Unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown; poor housing (that is housing that does not meet basic habitable standards; crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitating into society).
• The promotion of racial harmony for the public benefit by:
• Promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between different racial and ethnic groups;
• Advancing education and raising awareness about different racial groups to promote good relations between persons of different racial and ethnic groups;
• Working towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race.

International work
• The relief of poverty, advancement of education and the relief of sickness and preservation of health, primarily but not exclusively in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, by the provision of grants, items and services to individuals in need and not for profit groups, or other organisations working to further such charitable purposes.

What we do
• All our programmes promote racial harmony by working with children and young people and their families;
• providing opportunities for sport and activity,
• supporting education and raising awareness about different racial groups.
• We endeavor to promote good relationships between people from different racial backgrounds through providing opportunities for community participation in healthy recreation, support with school life and a commitment to lifelong learning.
• Plymouth Hope is continuing its Active Communities programmes and entering a new phase with an increased commitment to supporting learning for children, training for volunteers and advice and guidance for parents.
• The charity also assists its overseas branches and partners using sport as a tool for poverty relief in education and health.
