About us

Lowimpact.org is a workers' co-operative registered in England. Lowimpact.org is a huge resource bank for living sustainably and re-skilling for career change. Browse the categories below for 230+ topics. Constantly updated information, books, magazines, articles, videos, courses, products & services, links to useful websites and specialists to answer queries.
Lowimpact.org was founded in 2001 as the ‘Low-impact Living Initiative’ (LILI – hence our lily logo), a not-for-profit organisation, by two members of Redfield Community.

Lowimpact.org and NonCorporate.org are sister organisations. Lowimpact.org provides more detailed information on sustainability and on the ‘DIY’ aspects of non-corporate living. We aim to support the non-corporate economy and mutual credit by promoting them widely, by translating specialist information for a mainstream audience, and by co-ordinating various aspects of the NCE with each other and with mutual credit.

Dave Darby founded Lowimpact.org in 2001, spent 3 years on the board of the Ecological Land Co-op and is a founder member of NonCorporate.org and the Open Credit Network. His role is managing website content, blogging and fundraising.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
