About us

Youth Forum-Bitola is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, volunteer organization, committed to the cultural and humanitarian interests of the citizens of Macedonia. Our organization was established in the year 1999 by a group of young enthusiasts whose goals are to offer something new to fit the needs of the young population. We are a regional organization and our activities and projects are organized primarily in the area of Bitola. Members of our organization are mostly young people between 18 and 30.

The Forum’s main goals are:

- to promote various artistic and cultural activities by providing young people space for developing their creativity,
- to promote peace and democratization, to struggle for human rights and fight against discrimination of any kind, especially toward all marginalized and minority groups,
- to analyze and report on the current situation of the youth in Macedonia.

Youth Forum has succeeded in promoting public participation in important decisions involving young people. Through our activities, we make important links between local self-government and other NGOs, and introduce them to the problems of young people, as well as educating citizens in how these problems could be resolved.

The activities of the organization are primarily connected with the needs of the environment. We focus on antidiscrimination, especially of all marginalized groups. So in our programs of intercultural learning we include cultural activities for better understanding such as theatre shows, film review, video art, music concerts, performances … and many more workshops, seminars, tribunes, debates and courses. In a word, we make a little corner where young people can share their free time learning something useful and develop their own skills and knowledge.

Our current activities are connected with the anti racist and anti fascist movements. We are preparing a campaign in the big UEFA and FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) project which is to be implemented in many countries. Youth forum contributes to the commemoration of victims of the second world war and to the November 9 International Day against Fascism and anti-Semitism with annual activities.

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Further we can offer expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
