Qui sommes-nous

About us
The Women's Peace Network (FNF) was founded in 1996 against the background of the experience of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. We are a non-profit association based in Bonn, with various individual members, member organizations and groups nationwide. At the same time, we are a member of several national and international women's and peace-political networks.
The purpose of the association is the close cooperation of women and women's organizations which are active or interested in peace work. Anyone who wants to support our peace work is welcome here.
Our main topics include:
• Equal participation of women in all peace activities in politics and society
• the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security" and its follow-up resolutions here in Germany and worldwide
• the support and visibility of the work of PeaceWomen
• Awareness of the gender perspective in the context of war and peace
Our goal is a culture of peace based on justice, mutual respect, nonviolence, constructive conflict management, international understanding and reconciliation. For this, gender equality is the essential foundation.

What we do
Our motto is: "Wars are made by humans. peace too. "
This is the foundation of our actions. We are involved in peace activities ourselves, encourage others to do the same, and through publicity work, we do not keep our actions secret.
To this end....
• We organize lectures, symposia, film screenings, etc. on women's and peace policy topics
• We invite PeaceWomen from home and abroad to tell us about their work
• we show presence at demos, rallies and vigils and also organize some ourselves
• We reflect and discuss central concepts relating to peace, violence, conflict and gender equality both within the FNF and in the public domain
• We work in the coordination circle of the Bonn Peace Days based around the United Nations Day of Peace on 21 September
• we organize dispute resolution meetings in the Bonn / Siegburg area for young people and teachers of all types of schools in support of peace education
• We are committed in many ways to keeping alive the life's work and ideas of the first female Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Bertha von Suttner.
• We actively work in the group Gender & Peace in the Federation for Social Defence (BSV) as well as in "Alliance 1325" and we network in peace campaigning.
• We provide speakers on the topics of women, gender and peace and also give lectures by invitation.

On request we can give other net participants a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work. We also offer internships at our Bonn office.
