Qui sommes-nous

HERDS Nepal, a voluntary, non-profit making and non governmental organization was established in Nepal in 1995 with a mission of reducing poverty and sufferings in the country. It is also affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), the NGO coordinating body of the Government of Nepal. HERDS has grown into one of the leading organizations working for community development in Nepal. It has been striving to continuously serve the most vulnerable sections of the population and is also making constant efforts to build its institutional capacity in order to achieve its mission. It renders its services throughout the country and some specific projects are implemented in the districts of Sindhuli, Mahotari and Udayapur.

Looking towards the future:
HERDS has been contributing to promote child and maternal health and reduction of rural poverty through a number of measures taken in the last decade. However, great deals of efforts are yet to be made to meet the enormous challenge that lie ahead in this sector. HERDS will continuously strive for consolidation of the existing programmes, expansion of community based programmes, strengthening of institutional capacity and networking with likeminded personalities, individual and institutional donors and organizations in the years to come.
