Sobre nosotros

Bam Animal Clinics is an animal welfare/health charity organization founded in August 2009. Bam Animal Clinics is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Organization effectively working to restore the dignity of both wild and domestic animals in Uganda. We direct our effort mainly towards sensitization and education about animal welfare and care, treatment, and rescuing neglected and homeless dogs and cats, finding them a place they can call home.
We have had thousands of dogs, cats and other animals rescued from the streets, re-homed, treated, spayed and neutered and have adopted several disease control measures. We have written several articles on animal cruelty, pressed politicians to incorporate animal rights enhancement in their manifestos, especially the right to health and fair treatment, and herd treatment measures now incorporated in Iganga Community work plans.

Mission
We are dedicated to improving the lives of all animals through increased public awareness as well as impacting the living environment of communities in Uganda.

Our vision
We aim at effectively work and restore the dignity of wild and domestic animals in Uganda. Our efforts are geared towards sensitization and education on animal rights and care.

Our Goals
To continue with outreach trainings for Vets and Para-vetinarians throughout the country, curry out new clinics in remote areas while well stocked and with well equiped surgeries.

Activities:
• Sensitization: Our efforts are geared towards sensitization and education on animal rights and care, treatment, and rescuing neglected and homeless dogs and cats, finding them a place they can call home.

• Diseases Control: Rabies is a fatal disease and a terrible way to die by the virus that causes it! The disease infects both humans and animals but mostly through bites which is common in dogs. The disease is almost always fatal if no immediate immunization and or treatment is given to the victim. Approximately 33,000 people die annually from rabies in Uganda mostly transmitted through dog bites. The most effective way is through education, Vaccination of dogs and cats, castration or sterilization, thus the number of stray animals is reduced.

• Rescue: We have witnessed dogs and cats going without meals, treatment, shelter which has led to malnutrition, escalation of diseases, roaming in towns and sometimes knocked dead on streets. At Bam Animal Clinics as part of our commitments, we rescue these poor souls from the streets treat and re home them.

• Treatment: We offer treatments at all Bam treatment centers free of charge, our patients mostly from communities from near and far enjoy the professional way we handle our patients and the free advisory services extended to them for proper care and management.

• Rehoming: Most our rescues are first managed at our shelter then find homes within the communities. We have records for our rescues adopted and make routine visits.

• Spaying & Neutering: The neutering of dogs and cats in our opinion is very important and urgent, and we have tried to put much emphasis on it because it is in this way that it is possible to prevent that every year, countless dogs and cats-children are left without homes and food. Bam enjoy the very many professional volunteers from within and out of the country who have done a wonderful job doing surgeries as much as needed.

• Disease Control: The Organization is engaged in animal diseases controls and educating the population about the dangers of diseases spread with emphasis to zoonotic diseases.

• Pet Education: We offer pet owners unique advisory services and informal education. Bam Animal Clinics provides a dynamic two-way connection with the community, answering their queries about everything concerning their animals.
Cpd Program: Bam in partnership with the Wtg Vets United have since 2016 been involved in continued professional development training for Vets and paraprofessionals in Uganda to help them improve on their professional skills and ably handle new approaches to animal welfare and Health techniques.

If you have access to veterinary equipments, supplies and any other forms of support, please do not hesitate to help Bam animal clinics.
