Qui sommes-nous

Y Care Charitable Trust is a Botswana based NGO, founded in 2005, which provides extraordinary experiences in unique environments to fulfill the needs of our communities by organising sponsored walks in scenic areas of Botswana, such as Makgadikgadi Pans, Tuli Block etc.. The experience provides participants with the opportunity to face challenges and endurance promoting team work, team building and achievement for a higher sense of self awareness. The funds raised by Y Care Charitable Trust are ploughed back into community projects based in Botswana. The money is used to address the different societal needs including youth, orphans and vulnerable children, development of art, the environment, health and sports. The Y Care Charitable Trust supports community projects by empowering local leaders to determine how money raised can best fit their needs.

Vision

Objectives:
• To funds and raise support to a broad base of country wide causes through innovative, imaginative and creative fundraising efforts
• To form alliances or partnerships with existing charities working with any group needs be it; children health, women, community based organisations, environmental art or the youth
• To encourage donor participation in Y Care fund raising initiatives for active involvement in their company social responsibility projects
• To initiate innovative fund raising which provides for personal growth and development of "Botho" in participants involved in the fund raising events
• To encourage active participation of recepient organisations in the fund raising initiatives as per their ability to do so
• To be visionary and try to anticipate future needs of the community and attempt to address them early on

Youth Leadership Program:
Y Care developed this integrated two-year programme to train 25 youths in ethical leadership and provide them opportunities to mentor their peers. The Programme began with its first group in July 2006 and has four components with a six month interval per stage. The intervals allow participants to implement what they have learned and experienced in the preceding training. Four Components:
• Psycho-social support training (offered by SAPPSI). The holistic psycho-social training provides the youth with skills to effectively address their physical, emotional, social mental and spiritual needs.
• Life skills using The Journey therapy: The Journey Intensive workshop helps the youth clear emotional blocks which hold them back from experiencing their highest potential. By embarking on conscious personal growth the youth will be better able to define ethical leadership and assume effective leadership roles in their communities.
• Interaction Leadership Skills training based on `appreciative inquiry´ whose underlying assumption is that everyone is a leader. The three day workshop encourages self-understanding and self-mastery.
• Out-of-Bounds experiential learning camp is the Masiye Camp held in Matopo Hills in Zimbabwe. The youth will be exposed to canoeing, absailing, zipline, rafting, rope bridge of life, and orienteering.
