About us

African Youth Aid 2000 was founded on August 22, 1999, exactly 20 days after the death of the African youths Yaguine Koita and Fodé Tounkara, who died on August 2, 1999 in the landing gear bay of a Belgian Airbus.

Our goals
JHA 2000 aims to protect young people inside and outside of Africa, help them out of unemployment and into education, support their local development in their own country and thereby curb illegal immigration, which offers no real prospects.

Our tasks
• to advise, help and lead, such as through education and training, including in the fields of IT and the Internet, but also in the medical prevention of AIDS and other diseases, care, education, job placement and leisure and sports activities for socially disadvantaged and endangered children and adolescents.
• to promote solidarity with socially disadvantaged or vulnerable children, adolescents and adults with integration problems, in particular through targeted promotion of coexistence
• to collaborate with institutions, organizations, initiatives and projects with the same purpose
• to participate in actions with social, educational, economic or professional or cultural goals that can help to integrate and promote children, adolescents and adults.

Projects:
• “Little finches from Porz”: using scouting methods in an intercultural context
• Empowerment for African and Afro-German children: Vacation workshop for elementary school children in Cologne-Porz. Conducted with the Association of Binational Partnerships (iaf)
• The ESF project "Strengths on Site" of the JHA 2000 has as its goal the professional orientation of migrant and African women combining a needlework and a German course.
• Homework help and tutoring for children and adolescents from primary and secondary schools
• Action Education for All - also for migrant children: A project to strengthen the personality of young people from immigrant families with regard to the search for training places.
