About us

The Christian Optical Centre Foundation is based in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is a non- profit-making Christian Centre that is committed to education, training and prevention of blindness among the poor and marginalized rural populace suffering from eye-related problems.

The foundation’s target population is the rural poor who do not have access to, or the necessary financial resources for, vision services. The foundation records indigents that have received free examinations and eye surgery. We truly are the “DELIVERERS OF GOD’S ULTIMATE PLAN TO HELP THE POOR”.

The Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable blindness and its causes in the Volta Region and beyond and to make eye care accessible to all.

The Foundation’s aims: The foundation has 6 aims to address.

• Direct patient care
• Eye care training and education including on site training
• Public education and awareness
• Strengthening the eye care delivery system through capacity building
• Eye screening and provision of spectacles
• Building up an Eye Care Training Centre to train the trainers.

The foundation wants to reach out to the poor people of Ghana and beyond to restore their vision.

The foundation appeals to individuals, civic organisations, religious organizations, fraternal organizations, corporate organizations and other philanthropic foundations to help it with its projects.

Joseph Akussah is the Executive Director of the Centre.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff in the field of health and community projects. Generally we can offer other supporting possibilities. Overnight facilities are given.
