Qui sommes-nous

Bhumi is one of India´s largest independent and youth volunteer non-profit organisations. Bhumi was founded in 2006 by a small group of young friends with a strong passion to change society as it is today and build a better India for tomorrow. Bhumi as a platform enables over 12,000 volunteers in more than 12 cities across India for causes like education, environment, animals, community welfare etc. Bhumi is committed to ensuring all children are safe and protected. The safety, rights and well-being of children participating in our programs is a priority in our daily operations.

The organisation provides socially-conscious students and young professionals a platform to serve society and to bridge the gap between the learned and the unlearned through education. Our volunteers educate and mentor children from orphanages, slum and village community centres in more than 12 cities across India for causes like education, environment, animals, community welfare etc.

Vision: To help build a more influential, equal and socially conscious society

Mission:
Bhumi drives social change by fostering an environment where young adults & children learn, lead and thrive.

Bhumi has two core areas of work – Education and Civic Projects

> Ignite: Transformational Education
Bhumi's supplementary education programme benefits children from shelter homes, slum and village community centres. The programme is delivered during the weekends by young, trained volunteers of Bhumi. The personal growth through the programme is evident in both volunteers and children – our volunteers gain perspective and the experience to mould themselves into leaders in their communities, while academic/life skills support creates a better future for the children.

> Catalyse: Transforming Citizenry
Bhumi’s civic projects engage volunteers in causes like animal welfare, community welfare, disability, environment, health etc. in one-off and regular volunteering activities. Volunteer opportunities are managed through Volunteers.org, which is a platform that allows people to volunteer for a cause of their choice and lets other nonprofit, corporate groups tap into Bhumi’s network of volunteers.

Dr.Prahalathan KK is one of the co-founders of Bhumi.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
