About us

Rural Water Aid International (RWAI) is a registered non governmental organization that seeks to provide potable water to rural communities across Africa and beyond.

With our dedicated mission to providing potable water to the less privileged communities we are open to new partnerships from Non Governmental organisations, corporate bodies, philanthropist, charity organizations and individual who seek to make positive change to the less privileged communities.

In Ghana, West-Africa, drinking unsafe water is the leading cause of death in children in rural communities before age three. In fact, a child dies every 20 seconds from drinking unsafe water,
Rural Water Aid International has a core objective of accelerating the socio-economic development of rural communities across Africa through partnerships for the execution of humanitarian projects.

It is our objective to help provide potable drinking water for rural communities, complement existing programmes to eliminate water-borne diseases, enhance productivity and improving life expectancy in rural communities and tap into technologies appropriate for rural communities not connected to the electricity grid.

Projects:
• YAMOAH NKWANTA Water Purification Project and ADAKLU DISTRICTS Water Purification Project: Rural Water Aid International aims at providing potable water by installing:
o A specifically tailored water purification unit to meet the needs of the settlements of Yamoah Nkwanta
o The purification unit relies upon treating existing sources of surface water, usually full of silt, within the community.
o The purification unit uses no electricity, chemicals, and does not need sophisticated monitoring.
• Rural Water Aid International have dedicated itself to bringing a solution to this poor people by initiating the `Potable Water For All Project´(Eliminating diseases and ill health through the provision of potable water) in Breman Fankyinko. This project has an objective of installing mobile and easy to handle water purification systems within the village.
• Kwalakpoyom Project: The RWAI team visited the village. They set up their mobile water purification system, and provided pure drinking water for the entire village of 1,000 residents.
• Pediator kope Project
• Wash Awareness Projects: WASH is an acronym for potable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
