About us

The dream of Drive Change Foundation (DCF), started in 2018 by Peter Valentine, is a nonprofit making organization empowering youth and women in the community by providing education around Tanzania.

Mission
Our primary goal is to support vulnerable children through education, health care, food, clothing, and shelter. DCF educates and provides the basic needs to orphans and poor children around the community . But we also educate our youths and women with small business skills.

Our mission is to provide not just the basic needs, but also to instill morals & life skills to help our vulnerable children grow, learn, and eventually become independent. We believe that every child must access education. That’s why we support poor single mothers by providing affordable pre and primary school education.

Activities
• Our objectives are to educate, feed, and keep vulnerable children safe.
• We run nursery schools and Primary schools , where we provide the children with education, food, and moral support.
• We create a safe environment for the kids to play, learn and express themselves in readiness for their adult life.
• We organize community projects to empower the youths and women with income-generating skills to eradicate poverty. As we train our local communities, we also provide education and counseling on HIV/AIDS.
• Hosting Volunteers to support our projects in the communities.

Our programs:
• Our School Program: Drive Change Foundation Nursery School & Daycare is our school program located in Ambureni. In a bid to provide the best, yet affordable education, we started this school to educate the orphans as well as other children in the neighborhood. Besides the daycare, DCF has Baby class, Middle class, and Pre-unit and Primary schools at Maasai areas
• The Women's Empowerment program aims to assist these women offering them a refuge to escape the violence and a safe place to re-group and plan for a better life. The program was founded in 2018 to fight human trafficking and other injustices, while giving girls and young mothers a second chance in life and has helped hundreds of women and their children to date.
The program plan offers temporary residence for girls, young mothers and their babies. All girls and young mothers can get medical assistance, counseling and advocacy. The women are educated in mathematics, English, computer, health education and life skills and one-year vocational trainings are offered in cooking and tailoring and in entrepreneur skills for starting and running their own business after graduation.
While the mothers attend school or the vocational training, their children will be supervised in the daycare or the preand Primary schools, depending on their age. Girls and women who didn’t finish their schooling will be given a chance to finish their education. This program truly empowers women and girls who have suffered abuse and helps them to achieve a brighter future.

Projects:
DCF leads projects to empower the local communities with small business skills to eradicate poverty in the Meru district. We currently have two ongoing projects:
• The beekeeping project funded by KLJB Dürnsricht-Wolfring: DCF has partnered with Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) to farm bees in government forests in the Arusha region, as KLJB funds the beehives’ construction and beekeeping training. After training on beekeeping, each youth group will receive 60 beehives. We aim to give 300 beehives in total.
• The vocational training center funded by DCF Founder, Mr. Peter Valentine: DCF has crossed a major milestone by starting a vocational center to equip the local youths with craftsmanship skills. We currently have trainers on carpentry and welding. This is where the youths learn to make beehives. The youths get this training free of charge in the hope that they will use the skills to earn a decent living. Besides the beehives-making training, the DCF founder, Mr. Peter Valentine, funds other trainings in the vocational center.
• Drive Change also do the Cultures safari around Arusha Region.
• School building Contruction
• We welcome Donoors / Volunteers to support Vulnerable & Orphanage kids in the compound. Become part of feeding programme.
• Volunteer our teaching programme at Tanzania
