Qui sommes-nous

The Citizens Help Citizens Hamburg association, founded in 2003, is a non-profit organization. Its projects aim to promote the voluntary commitment of citizens and businesses, thus contributing to the well-
being of everyone in the Hamburg metropolitan area.
Some projects include: the Volunteer Exchange Hamburg, the Job-Cáfe Billstedt, the Mobile Citizen Service and the Mentoring group as well as our work with refugees
.
What we do:
• The VolunteerBörseHamburg organises and promotes voluntary work.
• It is our passion to work for the common good in the Hamburg metropolitan area. All subject areas are covered and carried out by competent volunteers.
• We work across cultures, parties, associations and religions under the motto “People strengthen people” and “More is possible with you”. All of our activities, e.g. in the Job Café | Billstedt–Hamm–Horn, near Hamburg,
our advisory services and events serve to create opportunities for gaining and applying for sponsorships in the relevant areas.
.
• With our database Hamburg www.engagement-hamburg.de we provide time, money and donations in kind.
• We are a member of the Federal Network for Civic Engagement (BBE) and the Federal Association of Volunteer Agencies (bagfa).
• We arrange sponsorship opportunities and provide information and advice on donations of time, money and materials across Hamburg in various subject areas.
• Every third Monday of the month we hold country information evenings at various locations.
• Under the motto “People strengthen people”, tandems and sponsorship opportunities are organized by the team of the Hamburg Volunteer Exchange which, among other things, offers mentoring for refugees. Thus
functioning new neighbourhoods are created. In the east of Hamburg we support volunteers and full-time employees in their work with refugees.
• The VolunteerBörseHamburg supports the judicial authority in Hamburg. This means that someone who is sentenced to a fine by a judge can work this out as community service with us or an
amount of money can be paid to us.

Bernd P. Holst is the first chairman of Citizens Help Citizens Hamburg.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
