Sobre nosotros

Boyo Association for Rural Development (BARUDEV) is a local NGO found in Boyo District of Northwestern Cameroon.

We are involved in the following areas:
• Agricultural promotion through sustainable livelihoods
• Environmental protection and conservation
• Promote gender equality
• Empower rural women,
• Promote hygiene and sanitation (WASH)
• Promote education
• Community development, etc.

What we do
We also carry out humanitarian services due to the ongoing conflict in anglophone Cameroon.
Our activities are to empower women, protect the sexual and reproductive health for women and girls, and protect the rights of children. We have been training community health workers to follow up patients, pregnant women, sick children and refer them to the hospital.

We believe in nature conservation and the sustainable management of natural resources including non-timber forest products (NTFPs). This is our own way of fighting against climate change.
Sustainable food production to conserve the soil and biodiversity is our approach to enable those displaced and are living in inaccessible areas to cultivate their own food. Here we teach rural farmers in their communities sustainable good farming practices.
Before the conflict, we were having senior experts from SES Bonn in plant production and beekeeping and also from CESO, Canada. We are still in need of experts and partnerships in our conservation project along the Ijim Mountain Forest Project and the conservation of the Kom-Wum Forest conservation project. These forests are a habitat for wildlife species like Chipanzees, baboons, monkeys, gorrilas, pythons, non-timber forest products which are income generating. The forests also enable constant water supply to irrigate our rice and wheat farms.

Activities:
• Empowering beekeepers with skills and knowledge through capacity and awareness creation about the importance of forest conservation(Ijim, and Kom-Wum Forest Conservation Project.
• Promoter of Biodynamic agriculture with the Principles of Rudolf Steiner.
• Improving the delivery of seed and soil fertility technologies.
• You can sponsor a project to ensure climate justice.
