About us

We are convinced and enthusiastic people who volunteer to work towards good living conditions in India - and this in close cooperation with the Indian religious community, the “Helpers of Mary”.
India Aid Cologne, a registered association since 1981, supports the community of "Helpers of Mary" in India and also in Africa. More than 300 sisters are active in many places in India and are committed to helping children found in the large cities of India in a neglected condition, physically and socially. Together with them, we fight against leprosy, promote work with HIV-infected children and support educational projects. A central concern is the strengthening of girls' and women's rights (empowerment) and setting up self-help groups.

More than 60 years have passed since the first care packages and containers with relief supplies were shipped out. A non-profit association has grown out of that, which, thanks to regular visits and good contacts, now sees that its work bears fruit.

The purpose of the association is primarily to support and promote the diverse social and religious activities of the religious community of the "Society of the Helpers of Mary”, especially in caring for needy children and young people, the education and strengthening of women's rights (empowerment) and families - primarily in India but also in other countries where the sisters work.
This is to be achieved:
• through public relations and educational work, clarification of the special situation and problems in India and other countries where the Sisters are active, and
• By soliciting and directing monetary and in-kind donations to the Society of the Helpers of
Mary, primarily in India and other countries where the Helpers of Mary operate.

Martin Kramm is the chairman of Indian Aid Cologne.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
