About us

Tutmonde is a migrant organization that was founded in Stralsund, Germany, in 2006. Ever since our foundation we have been able to look back on a close partnership with the district Adult Education Centre in Vorpommern-Rügen in Stralsund, which has allowed us to set up our association's headquarters on their premises, since we work on a voluntary basis and without financial resources.
The strong presence of right-wing extremists at the time encouraged us to take the step of founding an association in order to help migrants to have a voice in urban society together with other civil society actors and to fight for a democratic society.

Tutmonde means "worldwide" in the world language Esperanto. In this sense, we consider ourselves to be a migrant organization committed to helping to shape a fairer world. This starts right on our doorstep and in our everyday life.

Our goals
• to strengthen the rights of migrant women*,
• to provide and protect children's rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and
• to help shape development policy issues and solutions locally and regionally in order to take responsibility for a more equitable distribution of resources directly on site.

What we do
The focus of our commitment is in particular the situation and empowerment of girls and women with a history of flight and migration, their political and social participation and equal rights for girls, women and LGBTI* and a gender-reflected social participation of children and those persecuted due to racism.
We feel committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania we are particularly committed to the 3rd, 4th and 5th goals:
• Healthy living for all – ensuring healthy living for all people of all ages and promoting their well-being
• Education for all – ensuring inclusive, equitable and quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all
• Gender Equality – Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls
to these focal points
• we regularly conduct meetings, seminars, projects, conferences, information events and
specialist exchanges in the areas of child, youth and adult education, health and
development cooperation.
• We develop, adopt and publish resolutions together with other partner organizations.
• We work in partnership with other non-profit organizations or corporations at home and abroad.

Projects:
• samo.fa plus: Strengthening of activists from migrant organizations in refugee work
• A world promoter program: The promoter with a focus on migration and development encourages a change of perspective in line with the 2030 Agenda: she strengthens local knowledge and skills with regard to ecological and social future viability, promoting political participation and civil society engagement, bringing the perspectives of migrants and refugees into civil society contexts.
• House of Resources Greifswald | Office Stralsund: The House of Resources is a nationwide one
Funding program funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. We increase migrant engagement and participation at the local level. We support integrative initiatives, projects, organizations, clubs and volunteers as well as migrant organizations.
