About us

Naturspur is a non-profit organisation which, apart from natural science and environmental education, also develops and creates natural play areas with the participation of children, parents, neighbours etc.

We use four animals to represent four areas:
• Nature education: experience nature (the frog). Naturspur seeks to draw children and adults out of their everyday world and to make nature tangible and interrelationships clear.
• Education by experience: a change of perspective (the bat). We organise events to stimulate and encourage the relationship of man to his environment.
• Playgrounds close to nature (the woodpecker). Creative, inspiring interior and exterior settings for play and recreational areas (schools and kindergartens).
• Further education, seminars (the owl). Further education for teaching staff.

The purpose of our organisation is to encourage, plan, conceive and implement ecological and educational projects for youths and adults. Our aim is to provide alternatives to the increasing commercialism and consumer orientation of society and thus to protect the environment. The projects and building blocks make a contribution to an intensified perception and experience of our environment by their varied social, artistic, creative, nature-oriented, sporting, cultural and media activities. The open structure encourages cross-generational dialogue and helps us to learn from one another.

These aims are realised by:
• Projects within the framework of free youth aid;
• Planning, organising and implementing activities, guided tours and markets within the framework of a cross-generational culture.
• Planning, organising and implementing projects in the category “habitat” in cooperation with other institutions and establishments, as well as activities leading to a qualification “habitat” as experience topography.
• Scientific investigation activities: schooling, further education and advice on environmental, cross-generational learning and implementation processes and appropriate method development.
• Experimental practice and analytical reflection of a new “ecology of experience” in connection with our directly perceived environment.

Petra Moser is a biologist and experiential educationalist. She works for Naturspur in the area of designing natural gardens.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
