Sobre nosotros

The Msamaria Centre for Street Children, founded in 2006, is a Tanzanian registered NGO which provides support and care to street children, orphans, families and communities.
Msamaria is located in Rau – Pension, Rau ward, Moshi town District, Kilimanjaro region of United Republic of Tanzania, with the core aim of supporting homeless children. Due to a combination of poverty, neglect and abuse push children into the streets. Some lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. Too many children in Tanzania are forced to take care of themselves, homeless and alone, when they are as young as five years old. Msamaria Children’s Home gives kids their childhood back.

We are in a mission to rescue homeless children.

What we are doing:
• Education: Msamaria Children’s Home provides full education support to the homeless children being ‘Formal and Non-formal’ apart from other humanitarian and material support. Education Program with Kindergartens; Primary School; Secondary School Education; Collages and Universities; Community Library: School coaching and follow up
• Msamaria helps homeless children which are unable to afford education to get education.
• Home: Msamaria has shelter with a capacity of accommodating up to 75 kids per time, the children age ranges from 2 to 20 years old.
• Social work practice: Msamaria recruit trained social worker or other social science discipline to take an overall in -charge in social related tasks.

Income Generating Projects: Msamaria Children’s Home management is striving to create other means of generating extra income for the children by investing in small income generating projects and programs. We do this by involving homeless children themselves, local and international Volunteers! Here are some projects
• Gift shops: Located at Msamaria premises, a gift shop with beautiful handmade products produced local.
• Chicken project: At Msamaria Children’s Home we are running Chicken projects by rising different chicken breeds from time to time like Layers (for eggs producing) and broilers for meat and indigenous cross bread. This project aim to improve the nutrition status of children and fundraising.
• Mills Machine: This machine has been very helpful for making maize flour for the entire children but also restore and strengthening our relationship with the local community surrounding the Orphanage we came for service, and we charge them special fees for the maintenance.
• Msamaria chicks: By using two incubators and hatchers to make a baby chicken(chicks) for selling cross bread under partnership with TIGO Tanzania Cellular company. Now Msamaria chicks company is one of reliable chicks producer in the Northern part of Tanzania.
• Gardening: We do vertical gardening around the compound for children nutrition and excess we sell to our nearby.
