Qui sommes-nous

a different life e.V., founded in 2014, is a non-profit organization supporting sustainable health and educational projects in low- and middle-income countries. a different life was founded to support the work of local organizations in developing countries to fulfill their own goals for their communities.

The main characters of our work are our partners on the ground. All our projects are carried out with locals who know the needs of their communities best. We plan, develop and carry out the projects together with them. And whenever we can, we try to involve the community to be part as well – as volunteers or as paid help.

We invest the money we raise into project coordinators with years of experience in building sustainable projects. That way, all projects are community-owned and help where it is truly needed. Our team works closely with local partners to plan the steps of the project carefully and to ensure that every Euro is accounted for.

Projects:
AGONA NSABA - The own a different life Ghana project in Agona Nsaba, Ghana: The project will be managed by board member and chairman Seth who is a local from Agona Nsaba, and the project will be carried out by a local a different life Ghana team. a different life Ghana is aimed at establishing both formal and informal training and learning opportunities for children and the youth in Agona Nsaba and its environs.
• STAGE 1 - Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Lab: The first project that will be built is an ICT lab for students and the community. The ICT lab will be beneficial for teachers, pupils and students, and people living in the community.
• STAGE 2 - After-School Activities and Library Facility: Following the establishment of the ICT center is the construction of a library facility. Here, children and other community members can spend time to study or read on current issues pertaining to personal and career development and building a sustainable environment. Other creative learning and developmental activities will also be made available so that children can enjoy recreational time after school hours.
• STAGE 3 - Vocational Training Facility for Young Adults: The vocational training facility for young adults, especially women, with or without any form of education will be established as third program. The facility will be equipped with tailoring machines and will offer training to young adults. We hope that the ones graduating from our project can be helped to set up their own tailoring business. In the early stages, we will help to connect them to the market to ensure their business‘ sustainability. The training facility will also have a cycle where people who qualify may be employed to teach new apprentice who enroll for training.
• STAGE 4 - Sexual and Reproductive Health Centre: The final phase of the project will involve setting up a sexual and reproductive health centre to offer health education and promotion to the youth in the community and its environs. We want to establish a qualified unit, which will offer counseling to both young ladies and young men to ensure they are aware of their sexual health. The unit will also be involved in annual health outreach projects for community members of all age group.
