The Indian Stammering Association (TISA) is a self help, not-for-profit public charitable trust; it's an association of Indian people who stammer (IPWS). It is active since 2008 and is registered in the office of Sub-registrar, Vikasnagar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India on 13th Nov 2009. TISA was started by Dr Satyendra Srivastava aka Dr Sachin in 2009 in Dehradun with a booklet of information on breathing exercises and information for parents.

Our vision is a society where stammering is understood both as a significant source of suffering and disability

What we do
• TISA offers free online courses, counselling, communication workshops and daily virtual meetings for its 4,000-plus members. City-specific self-help groups offer tips and techniques to manage stuttering, plus mental and emotional support.
• TISA endeavors to assist PWS in acceptance of their stammering and overcoming the associated behaviors and mindset, through self-help movement.
• TISA offers many services freely: one on one as well as group based, physical or online.
• TISA self-help groups empower individuals with tool and techniques to inform, motivate and build self-confidence with stammering. While speech therapists work on speech exercises and techniques to improve communication, the community support system helps individuals listen, share common experiences, and support each other.
