About us

Mahila Jan Swasthya Shishu Kalyan Kendra (MAJSHIK) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) working in Jharkhand, India. Established in the year 1991, Mahila Jan Swasthya Shishu Kalyan Kendra works towards the promotion of sustainable development.

Vision
We aspire to be a just society irrespective of caste, creed religion where there no section of unprivileged/undeveloped. We consider development is something, which can’t be imposed; it comes through the conscious efforts of the people. Our role is to work as catalyst in the society. We involve people and assure their full participation in each and every development activity.
Our aim is to involve every section of people of the society and provide opportunities for their development. Voluntarism is the first and most important element for the development workers. Our aim to build a cadre of such people in the village itself is first priority, because in absence of such things, the development of society as well as community is not possible. The very thinking and understanding about development is the need of the time. Programs can’t only work for development.

Mission
Our mission is to reach fifty thousand families and provide them sustainable livelihood support, opportunities to learn and express themselves, development of basic amenities and infrastructure.

Current Activities
• Specialized adoption agency under the guidance of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) – supported by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India.
• SWADHAR Home for women in difficult circumstances (A shelter home for women & children) - supported by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India.
• HELP Line services – Women and Child help line services - supported by Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand.
• Children Home for abandoned, relinquished, orphaned and destitute children - supported Department of by Social Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand.
• Vocational Training Center – Supported by Department of Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand
• Cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants.
• Health – Immunization, RCH, HIV/AIDS
• Formation of Self Help Group (SHG) with credit support

• IRCT for drug addicts

Rajani Devi is the President and Vinod Sourabh is the Secretary of Mahila Jan Swasthya Shishu Kalyan Kendra (MAJSHIK).
