Youth and Development (Y&D) is a grassroot NGO registered under the trustee cooperation act of Malawi. Y&D is committed to empower the youth through participatory activities that builds their self-condidence. Y & D help the youth to realize their role in environmental management, provide sexual reproductive health education, access to education, capacity building and technical training skills, strengthening formal youth representatives and youth coordination, child protection and early child development programs. We believe in gender equality and no stigmatization.

Our mission to reach out to the youths with tools that inspire and enhance their growth, development, health, environmental management, agriculture and early child development.

Projects:
• Keep a girl child educated in Malawi: A girl child is at risk of dropping out of school when academic resources are not available, leading into teen pregnancies and early marriages. Malawi has registered an extremely increase (63%) in teen pregnancies and marriages especially during this period of COVID-19 pandemic. Our project aims at providing access to academic resources and learning materials to the less privileged girl child learners around Ndirande community as a means to keep a girl child active and occupied.
• Youth and Development(Y&D) conducted career guidance at primary schools: Y&D team motivated, inspired, and encouraged the students by sharing personal stories and experiences.
• Youth and Development has been approved to participate in GlobalGiving accelerator program. Our project is entitled “Boomerang Bags- reducing plastic pollution in Malawi”.

Gideon Gondwe is the Executive Director of Youth and Development (Y&D).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
