About us

In 2010, right after the devastating earthquake in this battered Caribbean country, Matthias Eigel
and Uwe Sindlinger visited Haiti for their first private relief mission and helped to tackle some problems. It quickly became clear that sustainable help needs a long-term concept and continuous commitment. So together with some like-minded people, Matthias Eigel co-founded
the association Haiti-WIR-helfen (Haiti, we'll help you). With several actions, large and small, the association supports three schools in Haiti.

Our mission: give children in Haiti a chance.

Projects:
• Dano - We have built a school: The initiative and the funds came and come from our association.The work has been carried out by local planners and construction workers. There is a school in Dano again! The new school building after the earthquake, the long-term security of school meals and the remuneration of the teachers were and are our main concern.
• School feeding project: The children in Dano usually have a long journey to school. Often the only warm meal they get is in our school. We finance the simple but nutritious lunch.
• Balls for Haiti: What could be nicer than seeing the joy that a kick-around means for children, right now in Haiti? The balls are also sponsored by our donors.

Matthias Eigel is the president of Haiti-Wir-helfen.
