Youth for Peace and Development (Y4PD)

About us

Youth for Peace and Development (Y4PD) is a youth-led organisation, based in Harare Zimbabwe, promoting peacebuilding and social change in Zimbabwe.

Our vision is a peaceful and democratic society where young people take an active role towards cultivating a culture of peace and development. Y4PD understands peace not only as the absence of war and direct violence, but also the presence of an apparatus and conditions that favour the economic, social, physical and cultural and environmental well being of all people in a society.

Our worl
• We focus on capacity building, advocacy, lobbying, dialogue with various youths and stakeholders at a community based level inorder to promote conflict manage
• Y4PD works primarily on two different types of activities: national advocacy for youth participation in peacebuilding (in the form of a training series); and, long term partnerships and publications.
• Our advocacy activities aim to shape national policies and practice in peacebuilding, We encourage enabling environments for young peace builders working at local, national and regional levels.
• Y4PD aims to empower young people to be more effective in their endeavour to promote peace, development and democracy in their communities.

Our work is primarily done through long term partnerships, creation and publication of tool kits, students and youth community peace clubs, peace networks and training courses. Most advocacy work is carried out by our Peace Volunteers selected to promote peace and national development.

Kudzanai Marshal Mutomba is the Director of Youth for Peace and Development (Y4PD).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
