About us

Christina de Jong co-founded Basis Education Foundation in Canada in 2014 and has served as the President of the Board since. Working in collaboration with basisindia e.V. in Germany and with partner organizations, Christina brings more than twenty-five years of learning, organizational, marketing and communications experience to the Foundation.

Basis equips at-risk youth with learning pathways, tools, and skills to improve their futures and create change in their communities after they graduate from high school.

Basis Learning Centres will provide access to online curriculum, arts-based curriculum, mentors, skills development opportunities, vocational training, psychosocial support, and career guidance. These strands knit together will help create a foundation on which to stand and reach for dreams.

Our Mission
Education is critical to preventing poverty, and in today’s world strong cognitive, socio-emotional, creative, and digital skills are necessary to flourish.
Basis seeks to create comprehensive learning opportunities for under-resourced or out-of-school children and youth in rural and impoverished communities in the majority world.

What We Do
We are currently piloting digital literacy training, online learning, and career mentoring for at-risk youth in rural and urban areas of India and Kenya.

Christina de Jong is the Co-Founder and President of the Board of Basis Education Foundation.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
