About us

Chaiim Foundation is registered under the Maharashtra Public Trust Act 1950 – E29881 and is a NGO (Non Profit Organization) and are 12A and 80G compliant rehabilitating survivors of human trafficking and promoting the welfare of the marginalized, the poor, disadvantaged and exploited irrespective of religion, caste or gender. We achieve the same by giving attention to reintegration, rehabilitation and restoration.

Our vision
Our Vision is rehabilitating women survivors of human trafficking and promoting the welfare of the marginalized, the poor, disadvantaged and exploited irrespective of religion, caste or gender. We achieve the same by giving attention to Rehabilitation and Restoration.

Our mission
Is to rehabilitate and restore survivors of human trafficking. (Women Empowerment).

Chaiim Foundation provides all the additional support required for women survivors to come into leadership roles once they have proven themselves after the training program. We have a culture where women are encouraged to take on equal responsibilities as regards their male colleagues when they will join corporate workplaces after the training program. Chaim Foundation strives to create an ecosystem that supports our women survivors through their critical life stages, like making good and safe decisions, having a regular income being saved, marriage, building self-confidence, having a strong identity and motherhood. A career break, for instance, can be one of the major concerns for trafficked survivors. We focus on issues that make a real difference to women.
At Chaiim, we celebrate women survivors. Not “trafficked women". We applaud and salute the accomplishments of trafficked survivors and we’ll do it every day of the year!

Chaiim Model:
When a survivor enters Chaiim Foundation, she enters into a 4 year Rehabilitation Program which offers her the above model into which she gets inducted right from making safe and good decisions to earning a livelihood through the means of a job and having a safe house to be called home.
• Health Care: Chaiim Foundation therefore ensures that every survivor goes through a medical checkup and is accordingly treated to. Some specific related healthcare like HIV+ and other related women issues are given prime attention and comprehensive expert medication is made available at the respected hospitals concerned.
• Bacis Life Skills: Life skill class is conducted every week to see positive changes in girls by giving them and training them to live a life as an overcomer.
• Vocational Training: Chaiim Foundation introduces a tailor made program to each trainee in safe and healthy environment. Individual attention is given to each girl according to her grasping capacity We assist victims, depending on their age, to set up realistic employment goals corresponding to their abilities, skills, educational level and the available employment opportunities in the location. Efforts made to provide the vocational training are necessary to realize such goals.
• Education: They have subjects like English, Hindi, Marathi, Home Science, Computers, Business studies etc. Many of them are aspiring to do courses in Nursing, Computers, Beautician, etc.
• Job Readiness: When they choose to work at Chaiim Humanitarian Clothing, they can start new lives, regain dignity in their communities and begin a journey towards rehabilitation and wholeness. Our projects provide direct services to survivors and those at-risk to human trafficking. In the long run though, we deploy sustainable and effective solutions to actively curb the growth of slavery and sex trafficking.
• Counselling: After rescue, their problems continue as they are confronted with difficulties, practically, socially and emotionally, hence the rehabilitation process needs to take into account many complex problems.
• Housing: Chaiim Foundation offers the girls who join the program a safe home. These girls who do not have any support from family or who are homeless are provided a home. A house mother is appointed to look after and take care of the home and the girls. The girls are happy because they have a shelter to sleep. Everyone shares the responsibility and expenses of the home. These homes are situated in safe places and have all the nearby facilities like market, school, training centers, food centers, hospitals and educational units that enable the girls to rehabilitate safely.

In order for us to become self-sustainable, we began a profit company – Chaiim Humanitarian Clothing.
Chaiim Humanitarian Clothing – We Celebrate Women (www.chaiimfoundation/social-enterprise.org ) exists to advocate on behalf of and empower women who have escaped from, or at the highest risk of human trafficking by providing dignified employment opportunities.
