About us

The German-Bengali Society, founded in 1997, and the editorial team of the Frankfurt Multicultural Journal have been committed to peace and international understanding for more than fifteen years.
The main intention of the German-Bengali Society is to promote international understanding and the integration of Bengalis living in Germany. Another purpose of the association is the promotion of art and culture.
On the one hand, the society promotes the cultural, social, social and scientific development in Bangladesh by promoting the work of the people there with appropriate events in Germany.
Another goal is to provide information about Bengali culture in Germany, but also about political and social developments in Bangladesh.
Through our educational work, we try to prevent prejudice against foreign cultures and we are committed to fighting discrimination in our society.
With our events, we would also like to specifically address schoolchildren and raise awareness among young people about this topic.

Our work
• By means of various cultural offerings (the organization of traditional and national festivals, readings, exhibitions as well as musical and dance performances) we would like to give the German population an intensive and tangible insight into the Bengali way of life and thus expand friendly relationships.
• We encourage and support Bengali personalities from the fields of culture, science and education in their endeavours to report to the German public on the situation in Bangladesh. In particular, the company endeavours to complete entry formalities.
• We highlight Bangladesh's special environmental problems through seminars and discussion events in Germany.
• We offer seminars on general multicultural topics.
• We publish a magazine that deals primarily with multicultural issues.
• We cooperate with existing organizations with the same aims and orientation.

Hamidul Khan is the chairman of the German-Bengali Society.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
