Qui sommes-nous

The Association of Parents of Special Adults is working for the benefit of the Special Adults. In the year 1990, around 25 parents of Special Adults children came together under the leadership of our ADHAR’s founder Late Shri M. G. Gore to find out a permanent solution for their constant worry of “After us what? Who will take care of our special children?” Thus ADHAR Badlapur was born with the concept of a residential institution taking lifelong care and rehabilitation of Special Adults for the benefit of parents and their family.

Our Vision
To reach out to parents of special adults and to provide a life-time shelter for their special children

Our Mission
To address the daily care requirements of the special adults and work towards the protection, development and enrichment of their life.

Our work
• Managing 2 Residential Institutions (Badlapur for Last 24 Years and Nashik for last 5 year)
• Taking lifelong care of 325 (242 male & 83 female) Special Adults
• It provides physical, financial as well as psychological relief to parents.

Activities:
• Games & Recreations: Games & recreation is an integral part of ADHAR. Various indoor and outdoor games like cricket, football, carom, Badminton, running, skipping are conducted to keep them fit and trim. Residents take part in sports competitions.
• Medical Facilities: Round the clock medical services are available at the campus. Nurses are working in the 3 shifts. Regular visits of Honorary Medical officer / Dentist / Physiotherapist & Psychiatrist are arranged.
• Celebration of Festivals: We celebrate all the festivals at ADHAR like Holi – all residents enjoy the Puranpoli, Rakshabandhan – Rakhi & coconut rice is the main attraction for the Day, Ganpati is installed for 5 days it is fun and frolic time for residents and so on.
• ADHAR does not believe in providing only food and shelter to the residents. Work discipline has been inculcated and they work from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and produce articles according to their physical and mental abilities. The products include chalk sticks, candles, paper bags, agarbattis, dusters, mats, decorated earthen lamps (diyas) for Diwali, wall hangings etc, which are produced in the vocational training centres of ADHAR.
