Sobre nosotros

Pamoja is a registered non-profit association founded in Germany in 2015. Our association has set itself the goal of supporting the Kigamboni Community Centre (KCC) in Tanzania. The KCC is a registered non-governmental organization in Tanzania.
Our motto is "pamoja - do it together" to create change!
All founding members of Pamoja have already worked as volunteers in the KCC and stand behind the values and ideas of the centre. It is important to us to work as closely as possible with the people on site, to exchange ideas and to travel to the KCC again and again.

Projects
We currently support only the KCC with its many small and large individual projects: The KCC offers various amenities free of charge to numerous children and young people. They can develop freely and their talents are encouraged.
• KCC Shelter: The shelter project helps to get the children off the street not only during the day, but also in the evening and at night, to look after them and to integrate them into the community. It offers safe accommodation, educational opportunities, clothing and food, but also appropriate care and support for children who otherwise live on the street and would spend their everyday lives there. It is important to know that most street children are not orphans. For this reason, a very important part of the Shelter project is finding out where the child's family members are and offering help and support to both the child and their family.
• KCC Future: Due to the planned restructuring of Kigamboni and thanks to a donation from the Selesko Foundation, the KCC was able to buy a three hectare plot of land (KCC Future) in 2010, on which their idea should become a reality. KCC Future is located in Gezaolole, approx. 15 kilometres from the current centre, behind the border of the “Kigamboni New City” planned by the government. A three-phase plan was developed for the property: Phase 1: Securing and preparation; Phase 2: Development of Agriculture; Phase 3: Construction of further buildings.
• Wheelchairs for the KCC: Unfortunately there are not many aids in Tanzania that are available to people with disabilities. But sometimes the small and simple things like a very simple wheelchair can improve the quality of life a lot! For this reason the KCC is currently trying to support some physically handicapped children from Kigamboni by collecting funds to finance wheelchairs for these children. Since many families are unable to buy a wheelchair for their children themselves, many children with disabilities unfortunately stay at home, lie there most of the time on the sofa or bed and therefore cannot participate in the everyday life of the family or the other children . With a wheelchair they would have a lot more opportunities to come into contact with other children, be able to see life on the street, come to the KCC and, overall, simply be more flexible and mobile.
• College Scholarship: Many of the Tanzanian KCC volunteers have been working at the KCC for a long time, but for various reasons have not had the opportunity to do further training or to acquire the necessary qualifications for their work. The College Scholarship Program therefore supports the continuing education and training of the KCC Volunteers.
• Learner Scholarship: The KCC's Learner Scholarship Program is aimed at children who attend the KCC daily but whose families are unable to pay the costs of secondary school.
