Sobre nosotros

Be an Angel is an initiative started in 2015 by people from different walks of life. We are committed to the sustainable integration of refugees in the EU, and support people with a history of flight.
It started out small: with the accommodation of refugees as guests in the apartments of the Be an Angel team. At some point, we realized that over 1,600 people had stayed with us, sometimes long term, sometimes for shorter periods. Everyone was spared homelessness. And today? Registered as a humanitarian aid organization in Germany with an office in Berlin. Registered as a humanitarian aid organization in Moldova with an office in Chișinău. Registered as a nonprofit, Friends of Be an Angel, in the USA with an office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Be an Angel e.V. stands for:
• Together – accompany people with refugee experience in Germany.
• Humanity – supporting refugees at the external borders.
• A better life at home – combating the causes of flight.
• Solidarity - With the victims of the Ukraine war

Projects:
• Restaurant Kreuzberger Himmel: Be an Angel conjures up very successful Syrian specialties on the table with refugees.
• Himmel 8: In our vegan-vegetarian Arabic deli Himmel 8 in Kreuzberg, refugees serve you the finest cuisine from Syria – from wraps and salads to soups and refreshing smoothies
• Be an Angel Moldova: Be an Angel is registered as a relief organization in Moldova and has an office in Chișinău. Since 04 March we have been evacuating refugees with buses from Ukraine via Moldova. Since the beginning of May we have been evacuating directly from the south of Ukraine. So, in total, we have evacuated over 10,000. people to safety. In addition, there are individual evacuations of seriously ill people with ambulances from Ukraine through Chișinău with specially organized airplanes or together with the UNHCR on evacuation flights of the various EU countries.
• Be an Angel e.V. in Berlin: hat we are engaged in the Ukraine war is clearly visible on this page. That we are still active for refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, from African countries
• Be an Angel e.V. in Belgrad: Through the winter we had warm food, clothing and blankets distributed daily to 1,200 people who were left completely alone in dilapidated warehouses. From donations, we financed a room where the refugees, 40% of whom are minors, who landed there, get language lessons. So that if they make it to the EU, they will be able to communicate at least to some extent. The small school still exists today.
• Be an Angel e.V. in Moria/Greece: Moria, the camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, home to 23,000 refugees in 2018. In a camp that was meant for three thousand people. People crammed between garbage and dirt, living in tents, barely fed, with hardly any medical care. We have identified people on the ground with the right to family reunification, had seven apartments in Athens where people could and can live until Germany finally allows them to travel to their parents or spouses.
• Friends of Be an Angel USA provides funding for humanitarian aid & evacuations. Its mission is to support Ukrainian refugee and rescue efforts implemented by the German & Moldovan NGO Be An Angel in partnership with other humanitarian groups including Women’s Movement for the Future. Together, we evacuate Ukrainians, especially the vulnerable–children, elderly, disabled & seriously ill. The partnership also delivers direct aid to Ukraine including food, clean water, medical equipment, supplies and medications, clothing, blankets and more–all the way to the front lines. Friends of Be an Angel was set up to give American individuals, foundations & companies the opportunity to support this extraordinary rescue and aid work on the ground in Ukraine during the Russian-led war and occupation.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
