Hope Rising Foundation (HRF) started in 2007 with a water project for a local community in Nigeria and was incorporated in the State of Florida, USA as a non-profit organization in 2016.
In Hope Rising Foundation, we are devoted to helping the needy in rural communities in Africa and providing basic amenities that are vital for human survival.
Mission
To empower women and youth in rural African communities; promote entrepreneurship and leadership among them; enable their cultural and educational development, and avail them with basic healthcare
Vision
To empower and enable the indigent of the communities we serve to be self-reliant and fulfilled
Our Goal
• To provide small interest-free loans to widows and indigents of the communities we serve to enable them to be self-reliant entrepreneurs, and able providers for their children and families.
• To provide a suitable setting for the provision of basic healthcare in such communities and seek sponsorship for periodic healthcare missions in these communities.
• To assist in organizing annual sporting and cultural events and other tournaments among the youth of these communities, thereby helping them develop the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and other leadership skills.
• To source for funds (scholarships) to support the educational aspirations of hardworking and deserving young girls and boys of these communities.
• To provide suitable learning environment and materials for the education of the young girls and boys of these communities.
Programmes:
• Students Graduation Assistance Programme (SGAP): Through the SGAP Hope Rising Foundation (HRF) is helping High School students to pay for their graduation examination fees.
• Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Program (WEEP): Through WEEP, Hope Rising Foundation (HRF) is empowering women, especially widows to determine their future and that of their families, and also preserve their dignity as persons. The beneficiaries are also trained basic skills of entrepreneurship to help them in their businesses. WEEP is a program through which indigent but capable widows are given interest-free loans to begin small businesses or to invest in their existing businesses, if they already own some, and so enhance their growth and profit margins. In this way they can be of better support to their families.
• Skill Aquisition Program for Youths (SAPY): Through this program Hope Rising Foundation (HRF) hopes to engage such young people more productively. They will be trained in various trades; artistic and technological skills so that they can begin their own small businesses, make a living for themselves and become more positive contributions to society. At this point we are still raising funds to set up the physical structures where the trainings will take place, and to provide the equipment and tools for the training.
• Basic Health Care Program (BHCP): Through this program Hope Rising Foundation (HRF) plans to establish a health clinic that will provide first aid in medical emergency situations. People will be able to be screened for problems like diabetes, High Blood Pressure that are common in the local population.
