Sobre nosotros

Three international non-profit organizations came together to fulfill a desire from King Norodom Sihanouk to build a free hospital for the poor. These organizations were Japan Relief for Cambodia, World Mate, and HOPE worldwide, which still manages the hospital today. Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE (SHCH), established in 1996, is one of the leading non-governmental hospitals in Cambodia.

Mission
To provide affordable, quality free healthcare to those living in Cambodia in poverty, while training the nation's top clinicians to further serve the Cambodian population.

Vision
Transform a life, transform a family, and transform a community by providing equal access, and quality healthcare for all in Cambodia.

Services
• Medical: SHCH has 15 in-patient medical beds and a full-service outpatient department. With specialists in internal medicine, endocrinology, and emergency medicine, your health is in good hands. Diagnostic services include x-ray, ECHO, CT and ultrasound. Our internationally-recognized lab is on-site to provide fast and accurate results. With a focus on early detection and prompt treatment, our medical department prioritizes evidence-based care according to international standards.
• Surgical: SHCH boasts two operating rooms and 12 inpatient surgical beds. Providing a wide range of general surgeries every day, our hospital also hosts international specialists several times per year to provide surgeries in neurology, orthopedics, and plastics among others. With laparoscopic and endoscopic capabilities, our surgeons regularly update their skills and equipment.
• Infectious diseases: We provide confidential and compassionate HIV testing, counseling and treatment services. SHCH also has 3 dedicated inpatient beds for acutely unwell infectious disease patients. With peer support groups, a specialty pharmacy with quality stock of required medications, and an army of clinicians overseeing 4,000 patients per year, SHCH continues to be a center of choice for Cambodians living with HIV.Also under the umbrella of the department are our TB and Hepatitis clinics. Our in-house laboratory is one of the few regional centers to provide TB microscopy for improved treatment and patient outcomes. SHCH is also at the forefront of hepatitis screening in Cambodia, with serology screening and treatment available for Hepatitis B and C.
• Women’s health: Opened in 2015, the SHCH Women’s Health Clinic provides dedicated care for Cambodian women. Services include breast and cervical cancer care, family planning, STI care, gynecologic disease management, as well as general health services and education.
• Urgent care: For non-trauma emergency needs, SHCH’s 8-bay urgent care unit provides fast triage and intervention.
• Chronic disease: SHCH offers screening and evidence-based treatment for diabetes – a major burden in Cambodia. Our nurses also lead regular diabetes support groups, where patients living with the disease can learn about diet, exercise, foot care and more. It also provides an opportunity to hear from others managing their illness and develop a peer support network.
• Laboratory: The SHCH lab is an international research center that provides our patients with fast, reliable lab results. Offering hematology, microbiology, pathology and histology, your needs will be met by our highly skilled lab team. The lab also leads clinical research in conjunction with the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp and SRI in the United States.
• Pharmacy: Medicine quality is a hot topic in Cambodia, where many unlicensed pharmacies fly under the radar, providing inadequate, inappropriate and unsafe medications. SHCH prides itself in being staffed and managed by fully qualified, highly skilled pharmacists with a focus on safety and quality. The pharmacy fills nearly 800 prescriptions each day, and provides donated medications for free. With reliable stock and impeccable safety standards, our pharmacists take great care to educate patients and clinicians on the proper usage of each medication.
• Annual check-ups: SHCH now offers annual health check-ups! Many SHCH patients present very late in their disease progression, which makes treatment more difficult and expensive. Take care of your health. Find and stop early disease in its tracks!
