Sobre nosotros

Webuilding, founded in 2015, is a Berlin-based non-profit organization founded by an international group of young architects, united by a common purpose: to help deprived communities through sustainable public building projects.

Our work
• We serve as the support for the local NGOs, so that they can develop projects for various public buildings.
• With our architectural background, we believe we can provide valuable technical expertise so the projects can be done as efficiently as possible.
• On the other hand, local organisations have a much better understanding of what is needed and can identify social problems more easily, so every project depends on collaborating with them.
• After partnering with a local NGO that we feel is reliable and has enough experience, we begin the project, do fundraising and take care of the construction.
• Following completion, it is the duty of the local organisation to manage the project.

Projects
• Darmang Community School - Darmang Village, Eastern Region, Ghana: The project is the construction of a school in Darmang, Easternregion, Ghana that should eventually provide for around 500 kids. We worked in collaboration with the local NGO, VPWA, who are the owners of the land, but were in need of technical and financial help.
• River of Blessing Academy - Koforidua, Eastern Region, Ghana: The Project involves the expansion of the already existing River of Blessing Academy. The River of Blessing Academy (ROBA) started as a preschool in Koforidua in January 2013. Currently consisting of kindergarten, nursery and primary levels, the school was established by the River of Blessing Foundation. We propose expanding the learning facilities in Rivers of Blessing Academy by erecting an additional building complex. To provide the children with better learning conditions and enhanced quality of education, we plan to build six classes (classes 1- 6), with each classroom expected to hold about 20-25 pupils, bringing the accommodation capacity to a total of 150 kids. Our aim is not only to create an area that provides a feel-good atmosphere for the children, but also to make the construction project as simple and cost-effective as possible.
• Humbi Farm – Munti Center - Xai-Xai, Gaza, Mozambique: The Project consist in the design of an ecological farm of 15 hectares that self-supplies the Munti Centre of Khanimambo Foundation, and generates new opportunities for training, employment and social growth. We collaborate with the architectural design and construction by implementing recycling techniques and bio-construction with materials from the region.
• San Andrés Centro Educativo Madre Laura - San Andrés, Santiago, Putumayo, Colombia: Together with the Catalina Muñoz foundation, we have designed the planning for 2 new single-storey school buildings that can solve the difficult situation of this community, improve the learning infrastructure of the institution and promote the motivation of the students, as well as ensuring the safety of both teachers and students. 5 classrooms will be built with sufficient capacity for all pupils. Each classroom should have space for 20-25 pupils. Thus, up to 125 pupils per building will benefit directly from the construction. As in previous projects, our planning is based on local conditions and we try to complement the local construction methods with new approaches. However, an important focus is placed on the safe design of the load-bearing construction elements and a stable foundation.
• La Ensenada Centro Educativo - La Ensenada, Nariño, Colombia: As part of the from the InnoPiangua project, lead by the HTW University and Los Andes university, which plans to Enabling sustainable local development through innovative mobility and energy structures in the Nariño region in post-conflict Colombia, WEbuilding aims to bring projects of infrastructure that will contribute to the communities development. This project was done as a pilot project. The Project involves the re-construction of the already existing school center La Ensenada.

• Workshops: WEbuilding is delivering cultural initiatives to stimulate cultural exchange, such as workshops for kids in Berlin. The goal of the workshops is to give children in kindergartens and schools an introduction into the countries we are working in. This is done through a creative and engaging way which utilises fun games, creativity and tasks that engage the different senses.
