About us

Empowering Youth in Cambodia (EYC) is a grassroots organization based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, creating opportunities and support structures for vulnerable children and youth living in urban slum communities.

Our Mission
Empower youth with skills and confidence to be leaders who actively develop self, family and community towards positive change.

Our work
Creating an environment that fosters community, friendship, and support, our schools provide children and adolescents growing up in slum communities access to the same essential opportunities as any other youth including:
• Education & Employment: The better vocational jobs in Cambodia require basic English and/or computer skills. We prepare our students with the skills necessary to succeed in jobs that will create greater independence and financial stability for themselves and their families.
• Personal & Community Development: We help our students recognize the power they have within themselves to make a positive change in their lives and communities. A culture of community service develops our students’ leadership skills while helping the next generation.
• Health & Wellbeing: Quality health services and sports are out of reach in the communities in which we work. By creating access to and opportunities for better health, we remove some of the challenges perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

Serving over 1,000 students daily, EYC’s four community-based schools provide Core Programming for students from primary school to university.
