About us

India Youth For Society (IYFS), founded in 2011, is an Indian NGO dedicated to make the people aware of the environment.

Philosophy: “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”

Vision Statement: For the sake of future generations, India Youth for Society is concerned to make every Indian responsible for maintaining the integrity of the environment as a whole-life system so that we can give our children a fresh air, clean water and long life as a gift, avoiding any kind of diseases.

Mission Statement: We are committed to ask for individuals’ effort to keep the city free from air & noise pollution, polythene prevention, and plastic reduction. We are also committed to learn and teach people waste management and proper use of water & energy.

Projects:
• P4 to Plastic Free India: Through this campaign, wep4 logo colour combination aimed to sensitize people on reusing, reducing and eliminating the usage of disposable plastic items from their day to day lives. Through this P4 campaign we are gradually succeeding in lowering the amount of plastic-related harmful chemicals around us. The project would give a good platform for 110 rag pickers, 50 settled rag pickers and their families. This project will bring them a good price for their waste. Hopefully, 11 – 15 people would be employed directly. As a part of the project, it is aimed to launch a weekly mobile clinic for the rag pickers and nearby people. They would have training about the plastics and hazardous waste handling and safety measures will be taught. Safe Sex & HIV counseling sessions are also planned for this community. Once the project makes business with them, there would be access to them. They don’t usually trust everyone.

Campaigns:
• Safety Means Alert on Road in Traffic (SMART): This project is targeted to reduce the amount of traffic accidents in the city and their consequences by following the road safety measures. It aims to increase the safety level on local roads, encourage walking and bi-cycling in the city and improve the urban space.
• Make Each School Student Aware of Green Environment (MESSAGE): MESSAGE, its full form tells us the purpose of this project. IYFS has began this initiative to help the students in Govt schools and create awareness in all aspects. Our purpose is based on “We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children.” Secondly, the Society aimed to help the students in Municipal Schools.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
