Sobre nosotros

Help without Frontiers Foundation Thailand (HwF Thailand), founded in 2007, is an NGO that has been set up to provide aid, help and relief to Burmese refugees and migrants in Thailand and Burma. At Help without Frontiers we focus on five core areas; Education; Youth; Health; Community Development; Child Protection

Vision
To create a world where help can be provided to the most vulnerable and marginalised populations without discrimination, without exclusion and without borders.

Mission
Help without Frontiers aims to fight the root causes of poverty and discrimination faced by marginalised migrants and refugees from Myanmar, ensuring help can be given without prejudice across borders, to the most in need.

Projects:
• Rays of Youth (RoY): In 2009, Help without Frontiers launched the Rays of Youth project to keep vulnerable children and youth off the street by educating them on child rights and protection, human trafficking, environmental problems, health and personal hygiene, empowering them with a brighter future.
• Cross Border Project: Since 2014, the Rays of Youth team has launched the Cross Border Project in Karen and Rakhine states to conduct awareness raising activities also in Myanmar. Preliminary visits of target villages in Karen and Rakhine states were organized in order to build up a network of community leaders, teachers and political representation. In addition, a needs assessment was conducted to identify the specific needs and problems of the villages in order to tailor workshops addressing those specific needs of the youth, establish community development projects and promote campaign events
• Ray of Hope Schools: Help without Frontiers (HwF) is committed to promoting education equality for all children, regardless their gender, religion, or ethnicity. Since 2002, Help without Frontiers has placed 51,300 students in the Ray of Hope schools, namely Migrant Learning Centres (MLCs) overseen to give hope and chances for promoting children’s access to education. For the school year 2018/2019, HwF Thailand provides direct support to 14 MLCs and four dormitories with over 3,000 children in Mae Sot, Phop Phra and Mae Ramat areas. HwF Thailand pays out teachers’ salaries, covers schools’ running costs for maintenance and utilities such as drinking water and electricity, and delivers stationery and teaching materials. The former staff of Happy Tailor, the sewing workshop that we run from 2008 to 2017, provides children with school uniforms and backpacks.
• Child Protection: In joint collaboration with UNICEF and Save the Children Thailand, HwF Thailand creates strong civil society network and services for the best interests of the child. All new recruits, interns and volunteers, as well as teachers and staff in the schools, receive trainings on child protection issues to understand, implement, and monitor the Child Safeguarding Policy.
