About us

The Foundation for a Green Future, founded in 2007, is a multicultural nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities to neighborhoods and communities to build an environmentally-friendly world by bringing nature into our urban spaces and our lives.

Throughout the year, the Foundation runs a series of educational programs focused on greening our urban spaces through the arts, film, forums/speakers, festivals, gardening, and green infrastructure. We promote sustainable business practices, recycling, composting, and water solutions. Foundation for a Green Future works with local schools, community centers, senior groups and neighborhood organizations to educate young and old about the many dimensions of being green.

Programs:
• HarvestGreen: A lush showcase of green infrastructure, living walls and urban agriculture featuring two daily discussions on related topics
• Massachusetts Water Forum & Youth Summit: Educational and professional conference in honor of World Water Day, bringing local, regional and international water experts together.
• Boston GreenFest: Region's largest multicultural environmental music festival highlighting green innovation and sustainable technologies for more than a decade.
• SpringPlanting: A collaborative community program with Green Neighbors Education Committee, Inc. to furnish seeds, advice and resources to all who are interested in making a garden.
• Green Learning Center: Educational space for all ages to learn about organic gardening, renewable energy, biomimicry, green infrastructure, rainwater harvesting and much more.
• Evening of SolidARTy: During ArtWeek, artists from Z Gallery and Foundation for a Green Future join for an evening of ecoArt, wine & cheese, and good company!
