Kilimanjaro Orphanage Centre (KOC), founded in 2009, is one of the organizations and private sectors that have been supportive in providing various forms of services and support for the citizens.
Kilimanjaro Orphanage Centre as an organization is working accordingly to the Law of the Child Act (2009) and the universal rights for the children stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights for the Child (CRC), ratified in Tanzania 1991.
KOC aims to follow these developments in the society, to have primary focus on the outreach-program and community-based support.

Our work
• KOC is therefore an important part of contributing social services to children within different regions in Tanzania.
• Since many children in these areas rely on the service that is provided by the organization, KOC's intention is to work professionally to ensure that the children receive social services of good quality.
• For over 10 years, Kilimanjaro Orphanage Centre has been dedicated to the protection of Tanzania’s most vulnerable population, was founded by Tanzanian Lazaro Edward, and over the course of the past decade has rescued more than 250 vulnerable children through outreach program, children in Kilimanjaro region and nearby societies, where they face numerous dangers including malnutrition and abuse.
• We provide food, clothing, shelter, education, counseling, spiritual guidance and medical care to the residents of our facility and secondarily to other needy children in our community. When possible, children are reunified with (extended) families.


Edward Lazaro is the Founder and Director of the Kilimanjaro Orphanage Centre (KOC).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
