Qui sommes-nous

In September 2009 a group of five international volunteers and a local Kenyan mother visited an informal settlement of 6,000 people and starting thinking about how they could work together to create change. The group visited homes, talked to families, listened to stories and asked the community about their greatest needs. An idea began to take shape: to focus on vulnerable children. The group decided to join hands and start a new project called Kitendo Children’s Charity (KCC).

Kitendo Children’s Charity (KCC) is an education and feeding program based in Naivasha, Kenya that is dedicated to empowering vulnerable children and families.

Our Vision: An empowered, independent and resourceful society.

Our Mission: To instill the highest values for independence and self-reliance for comfortable and decent living.

Projects:
• Children: Support 170 vulnerable children with food and nutrition, education, psychosocial and health services.
• Health Education: Provide primary school aged girls with monthly sanitary towels and relevant health education.
• Women: Empower women with relevant knowledge and skills to sustain their livelihoods.
• Public Health: Operate targeted medical camps that include general health services, HIV testing and counselling.
• School Construction: Build schools and all necessary infrastructure relating to education.
