About us

INSPIREnepal is a foundation and volunteering organization which focuses on disabled and disadvantaged children and youngsters.

Our work
• Our projects mainly focus on education, creative development and expression because the influence and results will last through out their lives.
• Creative therapies are given to several special need schools to improve disabled childrens development
• Music therapy is given at the burn ward of a childrens hospital during the treatmen procedure o provivde relaxion and pain relief for the children.
• INSPIREnepal supervises international interns. We believe the combination of both sides ( Intern/students & locals ) wanting to learn works magic.
• We only accept volunteers that can share their knowledge and talents.
• Not only the Nepelese will benefit from the projects, the volunteers themselves will benefit as well. The volunteers will be living as the locals and the knowledge that they will share with each individual has an unbelievable value!

Projects
• INSPIREclowns: The first clowns in a childrens hospital in Nepal for entertaiment purpose in Nepal. INSPIREclowns come once a week to the burn ward to entertain the children who have been hospitalized for several weeks. It takes their mind of their pain and trauma, not only for the children but their parents as well.
• INSPIREbakery: INSPIREbakery is the first social workplace in Nepal for youngsters above 16 years with a development disorder. We are specialized in autism, low intelligence and deaf youngsters Our main focus is to create job opportunities for youngsters with development disorders through our bakery. By giving the youngsters skills and salary for their work, their confidence will grow and it will make them independent of their family.
• Music therapy project: Our music therapist Maud has been offering music therapy at special need schools to develop skills on social, emotional, cognitive and physical areas. Maud has been giving trainings to teachers to teach them to use creative activities in the classrooms. We are helping to promote music therapy throughout the country and hope to take away the taboo around handicaps and therapy. Therefore INSPIREnepal has helped write a therapybook together with the Nepali government and our special need school. INSPIREnepal took care of all the chapters about creative therapies.
• Bangle project: We created the bangle project for the Disabled Concern Center in Machhapokhari. 18 disabled people live together in one house, and paying the rent by begging on the street. Out of the 18 people, 4 girls stay home, taking care of their children and the house and trying to pass time. INSPIREnepal provided the training and the materials to make a start. Once they start selling the bangles, they will be able to buy the materials themselves and become self-sufficient.
• Sport project: We organize sport days for children's homes and we have an annual sport day for 50 deaf kids.
• Creative development project: Music, painting, dancing and sports are essential forms for self-development for children. They learn skills, discover talents, can express themselves in expressive forms and have fun. Our organization provides classes in these creative forms that are given by local teachers. The local teachers will be provided with an income for their classes. Every 3 months there will be performances from the children to showcase their talents and the results to friends and the local population. The children will be working towards a goal and will also help with organizing their performances.
• Earthquake project: With our project we are going to help the children who have become victims of this disaster. Among others, we will make sure that the children have food and that there are medicine. Creative games and art will be used to entertain the children in the effected areas. We also hope to receive enough donations to help rebuild schools so that they have a chance again for a better future and to ensure that the children have a shelter.
• Library project: In November 2016, we opened our first library on top of the hill of Chobar. The children were a great help in making the library ready. They helped painting, sanding and putting up all the decoration. We really made this library together with the kids and the community.
