Qui sommes-nous

COMPA Berlin has been in existence since 2012 and supports work in Bolivia. In addition, COMPA Berlin carries out further education and decolonization projects in Germany.
COMPA Berlin develops workshops, courses and further education in dialogue with local organizations and artists. It's not just about interdisciplinary dialogue, it's about creating contexts that empower children and adults and encourage creativity. The methodology of physical decolonization is applied: art can come into being when we think not only with the brain but with our bodies to become "sentient" people.

The blog COMPA Berlin provides information about art and culture and the work and activities of the Comunidad de Productores en Artes, a community of artists from El Alto, Bolivia, dedicated to the decolonization of the body and social change in society.
COMPA has been in existence for more than 20 years in El Alto / Bolivia and is a place where different artists come together to strengthen their coexistence in their creative work together.
COMPA is a collective experience that empowers individuals and transforms society. The community is an expression of the search for a different life, an attempt to revive and develop the vision of a free society in which participation, grassroots democracy and solidarity are central.
Activities
Berlin
• Teatro Trono in Berlin: workshops and theatre productions about water scarcity and physical de-colonization! Together with Theatre X in Berlin Moabit, COMPA Berlin organizes the workshop Practices of Physical De-Colonization as a possibility of political / art intervention.
• SUMAK KAWASAY - The good life: In Berlin, a week for the "good life" took place. The principle of good life is part of Andean cosmovision. The good life is the mission to live in harmony with Pachamama (Mother Earth), in mutual interpersonal respect (Aini) and in the community (Ayllu), to take responsibility in the rotation of jobs (Mallku)
• Film: Hilar una Frase - stringing words together
• Video productions from prison: COMPA carried out a project on the subject of masculinity in El Alto with inmates of the Qalauma juvenile detention centre.
• Africa in Berlin: Project with the Paul Löbe School: Pupils in the ninth grade of the Paul Löbe School in Berlin-Reinickendorf had until the summer of 2016 to study colonialism, discrimination and exclusion. The project of COMPA Berlin in cooperation with teachers from the school was realized with the support of the cultural agent program.
