Sobre nosotros
Language Bridge Hamburg has been active as a non-profit association since Spring 2014, in the field of promoting the linguistic integration of adult immigrants and refugees.
Language support is an important focus in Hamburg, so that people with a migration background can achieve equal participation in all areas of social life. Practical experience shows, however, that after completion of the integration courses, the knowledge of the participants often falls rapidly again - there are too few opportunities to apply what they have learned.
Everything Language Bridge Hamburg offers is managed by volunteers, who are specially trained for this task. The association and the activities offered are all politically and religiously neutral. The diversity of all cultures is perceived and appreciated as enrichment.
The goal is the promotion of linguistic integration in the sense of approaching each other, learning from each other and growing together.
Projects and activities
• Everyday Speech: As a sponsor of the project »Everyday Speech«, the association supports immigrants and refugees in using and deepening their German language skills in everyday life. We offer discussion rounds with excursions that promote language use, expand their vocabulary and provide practical guidance and insights into our everyday culture. The project »Everyday Speech« combines theory and practice: Instead of vocabulary tests and grammar tests, we prefer lively entertainment. Depending on the subject forming the monthly focal point of a discussion round, the participants visit the markets, museums or places of everyday life in Hamburg, together with their language leaders.
Language Bridge Hamburg is part of a network of associations and other parties in Hamburg's integration, language and involvement promotion work. Networks and cooperation are the cornerstones of our work. You will find us at numerous exchange meetings, trade fairs and specialist events in Hamburg.
Annja Haehling von Lanzenauer is a committee member of Language Bridge Hamburg and head of the project "Everyday speech".
On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
