About us

Our Foundation for Mankind and the Environment is a private foundation based in Berlin. It has existed since September 2010 and is recognized as a non-profit organization and operationally active, i.e. we realize own projects.

The Foundation for Mankind and the Environment:
• promotes a responsible human-environment relationship
• connects various stakeholders in the field of sustainable development
• facilitates new alliances and constellations of cooperation
• advises and accompanies interested parties and partners in favour of open and solution-oriented communication as part of their activities.

In addition, the Foundation for Mankind and the Environment helps to overcome the reservations of the people involved so that they dare to take new approaches and to use innovative forms of communication.

How we work
To reflect. Form structures. Group experiences together. Achieve effects.
• Our foundation designs and realizes its own projects. In addition, we help promising, already existing initiatives to consolidate and expand their work. Only in exceptional cases do we promote project ideas. This distinguishes us from most foundations that only support projects that have not yet been launched.
• With the help of our communication and networking checks, we recognize the strengths, weaknesses and potential of initiatives. We support eligible project teams with the help of communication concepts and networking strategies. Wherever possible, we work together with institutions from research, business, education, culture, administration, media and civic organizations.
• We offer workshops and coaching in the areas of process management, communication and media training as well as networking strategies and networked thinking

Our priorities
• Sustainable consumption: The Foundation for Mankind and the Environment stands for the mediation between consumers and manufacturers; we encourage citizens to rethink their own consumption patterns and to lead an environmentally sound household; we promote sustainable consumption in order to promote sustainable economic activity.
• Biodiversity: The Foundation is committed to promoting biodiversity in urban and rural areas: strengthening the urban-rural relationship; intensifying the exchange of nature conservation research and conservation practice; making the economic advantages of nature conservation visible; encouraging business, communities and individuals to preserve biodiversity


Projects:
• Diversity meeting place - Natural design and maintenance of open spaces in residential areas
• Germany is buzzing !: This initiative is dedicated to biodiversity in urban areas. It points to the threatening situation for bees and wants to protect their habitats. Given the decline in bees, it is more important than ever to understand the interdependence of functioning ecosystems.
• Bee suitcase for environmental education
• Integration in green professions
• Sustainable budget driving license (NaHaFü): Clever budgeting made easy!
